Classic Oaxacan flavor notes in this cup – sweet spice, citrus, and a rich, chocolatey and syrupy finish. We love this coffee as it shows the potential and range of coffees from this vibrant region of Mexico.

Sixty small-scale producers grow our Mexico Ozolotepec. They process the coffee using the fully washed method with traditional fermentation around 24 hours depending on the weather. Next, they fully sun-dry the coffee on either straw mats or raised beds.

Within the mountainous terrain that stretches up near the Pacific Coast in southern Oaxaca, lies the municipality of Ozolotepec, a land with a tropical climate and fertile soils. Together with other communities in Southern Oaxaca, the people of Ozolotepec have a series of legends and mythological stories that represent them and their traditions. This mountainous and mythical region is the home to small-scale coffee growers who grow mostly Typica varietals but are starting to learn about the process of producing specialty coffee.
