COSTA RICA LAS LOMAS
Honey, cocoa, mandarin orange.
We are sourcing in the Naranjo region of Costa Rica from a cooperative called COOPRONARANJO R.L. This organization was established in 1968 by 91 small coffee growers. Since its creation the co-op has been the center of economic growth in Naranjo. That is reflected in the fact that today there are 2338 co-op members and 95% are small holders. Las Lomas beans come from growers specifically around the three main hilltop communities in the area, Robles, Lourdes and San Juanillo. Las Lomas growers group is composed of about 500 producers of which 30% are women. Las Lomas farms range between 4300-5600 feet. We have chosen to source exclusively from the women producers in this group for our lots of coffee. We feel we can give back more to community by working with these exceptionally dedicated and quality focused farmers.
