ACR RWANDA HINGAKAWA WOMENS COFFEE
Honeycrisp, brown sugar, eucalyptus.
This co-op was formed in 2004 and became the first women’s farmer association of its kind in Rwanda. The Hingakawa women have gone through the darkest periods in Rwandan history and made the decision to look past their tribal differences and instead made poverty their common enemy. They have been able to move forward and heal their community through their leadership. Hingakawa means “Let's Grow Coffee" and signifies their resolve to fight the poverty epidemic that has destroyed numerous households. These women had enough and came together to reclaim their lives with the Hingakawa "Let's Grow Coffee” chant! These farmers deliver their cherries to the centralized Abukundakawa washing station where the beans are fully-washed and dried on raised beds.
THIS SMALL-BATCH COFFEE MAY REQUIRE LONGER DELIVERY TIME WHEN ORDERED ONLINE.
