The People Behind Our Small Batch Coffee

Our Small Batch line didn’t just show up overnight, what was formerly known as our Allegro Coffee Roasters brand, has been years in the making. So many people have worked to get you these incredible coffees from all over the world, as we launch the rebrand and release of Small Batch, we asked a few people who have worked closely on this line what their current favorite Small Batch coffee is and why. The different processing methods that create such distinct flavors are just as unique as each person who helped bring this exciting line to life. Here are their picks!

Christy’s Current Favorite: Ethiopia Shakisso – “I was just at this farm two weeks ago in Ethiopia and got to camp outside with the owner. The care that Haile requires for the processing of his coffees creates some of the sweetest natural lots ever!”

Alejandro’s Current Favorite: Kenya “This is my favorite right now. I just cupped it yesterday and it was awesome.”

Current Favorite: Ethiopia Lalissa and Sumatra – “They are two completely contrasting flavors. Sumatra really differentiates us as a coffee company and Ethiopia is a beautiful, elegant coffee.”

Current Favorite: El Salvador – “El Salvador is such an under rated region for specialty coffee. This one is super tasty.”

Current Favorite: Ethiopia Lalissa, Colombia, and Mister Twister – “There are too many good ones to choose just one!”

Current Favorite: Myanmar  – “I don’t think a lot of roasters have coffee from this region and the way we roast it brings out some pretty unique flavors that I don’t find very often.”

Current Favorite: Burundi  – “It’s a nice light coffee, perfect for warm weather.”

Current Favorite: Ethiopia Lalissa – “I really like citrusy flavors, the first time I had this I made it as a cold brew and you could really taste all the layers. It’s well rounded and great no matter how you brew.”
