It’s hard to believe December is here and holidays are right around the corner. It feels like we blinked and fall is over. Whether you’re sad to see those brisk fall mornings go or excited to have a full house over the holidays, don’t skip your coffee or breakfast during those hectic, busy mornings. If you’re a French press brewer, try making one of these easy four minute toast ideas – throw them together while your press is steeping, when your coffee is ready, so is breakfast! They can all be customized for allergies and picky eaters. We didn’t invent these recipes, we just pulled together our favorite quick bites to help you get fed, caffeinated, and out the door.

Put your water on, pop your bread in the toaster and get your French press ready. As soon as you’ve pour your coffee grounds and hot water, your toast will be ready to top! We like to put out options so kids can top their own, but usually keep it to simple choices so we aren’t left with a huge clean up. The recipes have a base of nut butter, avocado, or cream cheese – try picking a couple with the same base so that everyone can easily pick their own toppings.

Nut Butter – Pair with Breakfast Blend

Choose the nut butter of your choice, almond, cashew, peanut, sun butter – they are all good with these toppings!

Top with:

  • Bananas and honey
  • Raspberries, Blueberries, and chia seeds
  • Coconut shavings
  • Apple slices and cinnamon
  • Strawberries and raisins
  • Pears and cinnamon

Avocado  – Pair with French Roast

Whether it’s sliced or smashed, we love a little avo on toast.

Top with:

  • Sliced tomatoes and pesto
  • Cream cheese and fresh dill
  • Mozzarella, tomato, and basil
  • Sliced hard boiled egg, pinch of chili peppers or hot sauce

Cream Cheese – Pair with Café la Dueña

The perfect partner for both sweet and savory toppings.

Top with:

  • Salmon and cucumbers
  • Cucumbers and chives
  • Strawberries and blueberries
  • Raspberry jelly
