Roaster

As someone trying to figure out what I wanted to do in the mid-90s, I found Allegro Coffee at the perfect time. A help-wanted ad promising “one free pound of coffee per week” was all it took for me to stumble into the coffee industry. Sold!

It wasn’t long after I started here that I was drawn to the roasting department – and my coffee journey really began. Early one morning, I brewed a pot of our Organic Breakfast Blend and had my first real ‘aha!’ moment—a cup of coffee so good that I can still remember, 23 years later, exactly where I was at that moment, looking down into my cup somewhat bewildered as if someone had replaced my morning coffee with some magic elixir.

From that moment, inspiration turned to obsession. I asked myself, how could I replicate this on a daily basis? How can I share what I just experienced with everyone who drinks our coffee?

This has continued to motivate me every day—the hope that someone out there somewhere will have their very own aha! moment over one of our cups of extraordinary coffee on an ordinary day.
