We use Ethiopian beans known for their bright and fruit-tinged flavors to create a Decaf French Roast that is intensely flavorful. The beans are decaffeinated using the gentle water and carbon filter method at the Mountain Water plant in Veracruz, Mexico.
In the Mountain Water™ process, pre-selected green coffee beans are immersed in water which has soluble coffee compounds to extract the caffeine while maintaining the flavor components. To separate the caffeine from the water, the resulting solution is passed through a cellulose and activated charcoal filter, which removes the caffeine. As a result, these coffees are between 97-99% caffeine free. |
