About the Coffee
From their 100% recycling program of all coffee by-products to their massive red worm composting system to their intensive water conservation methods, Selva Negra is truly the most environmentally sound and sustainable coffee farms we have ever seen. A mixture of Bourbon and Caturra variety coffee trees are grown under a dense shade canopy following organic methods. The farm also maintains housing, medical facility, kitchen, library and schools for the workers on the farm.

About the Artist
The lush, dense coffee farm scene on our Nicaraguan coffee bag was painted by an artist named Adonis Fonseca. Adonis always had art inside him and the ability to paint. Even as a very young child his clothes were stained with acrylic paint. Adonis is a friend of the Selva Negra coffee farm and paints realistic portraits and landscapes to sell at the local restaurant.
