About the Coffee
Ranging from 6200-8000 feet, this has to be one of the highest grown coffees in the world. This small 15 hectare farm is situated on a terraced mountain-side above the Takesi River valley. The famed Inca trail meanders through the organically grown heirloom variety Typica coffee trees. The meaning Takesi in the pre-Incan Aymara culture meant "jolt" or "hard kick" which perfectly embodies the intense flavor of the coffee.

About the Artist
Roberto Mamani Mamani is one of Bolivia’s foremost painters. His rich, bold paintings often depict the Aymara highlands and his Aymara roots. Mamani Mamani was born in the semitropics of Cochabamba in  Bolivia. Although he began to paint at the age of eight, he studied agronomy rather than fine arts as a student in La Paz. The high mountain range and coffee fields on our Bolivian coffee bag is from a painting commissioned specifically for  Allegro.
